Small Habits Big Changes

Many people believe that in order to change their life, they have to take a huge leap. But that’s not true! Instead, the secret formula is Small Habits Big Changes!

As a Transformational Life Coach, I know for sure it’s simple, small habits that lead to big changes

So, here is an invitation…

…an invitation to evaluate where you currently are in your life, and assess what is working, and well, what not so much.

Hold up both hands flat in front of you with your palms facing up. Let one hand represent where you are now and raise the other hand 6, 10, 12 inches higher to represent the place you long to be.

Notice the space in between. Is there a lot of space? Space to fall. Space to lose hope. Space to give up.

This invitation is not about taking a big leap to close that gap.

Instead, this is an invitation to take small, doable steps forward.

Small Steps = Big Change

Small steps that become lasting habits. Small habits that create lasting change and get you to the place where you’re living the life of your dreams.

One small step, then another.

After that, another.

And another after that.

As you keep taking those small, habit-building steps, you’re creating and building new neural pathways in your brain.

What is one small and simple step you can take today?

What about a short walk outside to move your body?

Several glasses of water throughout the day?

You could make your bed?

Or call and connect with an old friend?

Sit quietly with your eyes closed for just a few minutes?

Play a piece of classical music while you sit down to answer emails?

Write in your journal?

Read a chapter in the book that’s been sitting on your bedside table since the spring?

You choose.

What’s the one step you’ll take today?

Then do it again tomorrow? And the day after that?

Remember, make it easy, realistic and doable.

And perhaps, after a while, you’ll be ready to take another step and add in another new, simple daily habit.

​Now hold up your two hands again in front of you and notice if that distance between your hands has closed a bit.

Above all, as you continue to take these small steps, at some point along the way, you may notice that you’ve made some significant shifts in your life.

Then prepare to take another step forward.

And then another.
